By day, I teach sociology for Des Moines Area Community College.  By night, on weekends,  during the summer months, and to be honest, whenever time allows, I enjoy capturing a variety of images as you can tell from my website.  Fifteen years ago I switched from film to digital photography and never looked back.  When I am not busy capturing memories, I am post processing images using Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC.  If you want an image to be all it can be, and at times even more, it takes more than just the release of a shutter.  It requires the post processing of that image as well.  This is something I enjoy doing almost more than I do capturing the image.

Although I do a variety of work, I particularly enjoy photographing people.  I enjoy creating beauty and headshots, photographing weddings, and creating interesting images captured from people’s everyday lives.  I especially enjoy sharing my street photography work with students in my college classes.  As they say, a picture is worth . . .

What you can expect from me . . .

It is not uncommon for me to capture six hundred or more images during a three to four hour event.  From that collection of images I narrow the selection to between fifty and hundred captures which will be processed and provided the client.  Typically, approximately fifty images will cover a wedding ceremony and family photos following the wedding.  Photo sessions for individuals or small groups will generally, but not always, involve fewer images.  But my price is for the session.  I do not charge for individual photos or set limits on the number of photos clients will receive from the images I select for processing.  After all, these are your memories.  The electronic file images will be sent to you using Hightail file sharing.  I maintain all copyright privileges for these images, but clients will receive a permissions form allowing them to print and share photos as they wish.

Here’s a little information about the equipment I rely upon to complete my work.  I use two Nikon professional cameras and a host of professional lenses for all of my sessions.  I use software from Adobe and Macphun for post processing, Magmod and Wescott diffusers for my on and off camera flash needs.  Apple products are the devises I use for all of my post processing work and when sharing images with clients.

That’s about it . . .

Pete
